Two-week Workshop on Wildlife Investigation in Luang Prabang

Officers from the People’s Prosecutor, Ministry of Public Security, Lao Customs Department and Department of Forest Inspection successfully completed ILSTA’s two-week workshop on wildlife investigation for authorities responsible for wildlife crime investigation and prosecution. ILSTA experts first briefed the officers on the current state of wildlife crime and relevant legal frameworks and conventions applicable to such crimes and subsequently led two practical exercises to enhance the understanding of the phases of wildlife investigations and techniques to analyse intelligence. The workshop brought together various governmental agencies and solidified interagency cooperation to efficiently counter wildlife crimes.
