A 2-week criminal investigation course was jointly organized by the Lao Customs Department and ILSTA. 32 participants from customs, prosecutors and police are attending the course to improve their capacity to investigate and prosecute offences.
Participants were guided, by ILSTA law enforcement experts, through a human trafficking case scenario from the initiation of an investigation to the presentation of a case file to the prosecutors. The course also received valuable input from the Ministry of Public Security’s human trafficking division.
