Third Consultative Meeting to Establish the ASEAN Prosecutor Body/Entity

Mr. Jumpon Phansumrit, Deputy Attorney General, along with a delegation from the Office of the Attorney General of Thailand, participated in the Third Consultative Meeting to Establish the ASEAN Prosecutor Body/Entity, held in Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia, from November 29 to December 1, 2024. The meeting was organized by the Office of the Attorney General of the Kingdom of Cambodia and attended by delegations from Offices of the Attorney General/prosecutorial organizations of all ASEAN member states and representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat.
This meeting followed the First Consultative Meeting, which was hosted by the Office of the Attorney General of Thailand at Bang Saen, Chonburi Province, in August 2023. During that meeting, participants adopted the “Bang Saen Initiative 2023,” an initiative proposed by Thailand that expressed a collective intention to establish an ASEAN Prosecutor Body. The Second Consultative Meeting was subsequently hosted by the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia in April 2024.
At the Third Consultative Meeting, Mr. Jumpon Phansumrit, Deputy Attorney General, was invited to serve as Co-chairperson of the meeting alongside H.E. Mr. Phan Vanrath, Deputy Attorney General of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Dr. Narendra Jatna, Deputy Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia.
