ILSTA presented an open lecture on Anti-money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism at the Faculty of Law and Political Science. Mr. Vongpaseuth Ratanavong, Programme Officer of ILSTA explained money laundering, terrorist financing (known as AML/CFT), and common methods for money laundering, as well as the specific domestic legislation on AML/CFT.
70 participants took part in a quiz and a role-play exercise about laundering the proceeds of a crime as well as online attendees from the Faculty of Law (FLA) in Champasak, and the National Institutes of Justice (NIJ) in Pakse, Savannakhet, and Luang Prabang.
