ILSTA and Peoples’ Supreme Court held a joint workshop for levels 1 and 2 judges from Xieng Khouang, Xaysomboun, Luang Prabang, and Hua Phanh provinces. The training focused on the hierarchy of legal norms, fair trial rights, and the Bangalore Principles on Judicial Conduct. The Bangalore Principles consist of six core principles concerning judicial ethics and integrity and serve as a universal code of conduct for judges around the world. In addition to the lectures, ILSTA experts and the Peoples’ Supreme Court provided hands-on sessions on evaluating evidence and standards of proof based on international practice and Lao law.
