ILSTA, in collaboration with the Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor (OSPP), conducted a specialized training program titled “Intelligence Analysis and Advanced Investigation Techniques for Wildlife Crime” (IA-AITWC). The objective of this training is to train law enforcement officers, including police, customs officials, forest inspectors, and prosecutors, with specialized investigative skills in accordance with Article 20 of the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organised Crime (UNTOC).
Additionally, a representative from the Anti-Money Laundering Intelligence Office (AMLIO) provided the law enforcement agencies with an update on the Mutual Evaluation results and delivered an overview of Anti-Money Laundering (AML/CFT) practices in Lao PDR.
Like all organized crime, wildlife crime is connected to money laundering.
