Training for Judges in Bolikhamxay

On October 2 – 5, 2023, ILSTA trained levels 1 and 2 judges from Vientiane Capital and Bolikhamxay, Khamouan and Vientiane provinces on international law, anti-money laundering, jurisdiction and choice of law, constitutional principles, and the Bangalore Principles on judicial ethics. The judges learned about applying international law and standards in their daily work in a manner consistent with international and domestic laws. Mr. Hayato Yaoita, an expert from the Japan International Cooperation Agency, joined the sessions and commented on the practice in Japan and the lessons learned from his experience as a Japanese prosecutor.
