Meeting with the members of the working group on legal amendments to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT) Law of Lao PDR

On Tuesday 30 April, ILSTA representatives met with the members of the working group on legal amendments to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT) Law of Lao PDR. The ILSTA representatives exchanged views and ideas with Lao PDR authorities on how the proposed amendments to the AML/CFT Law can better align with the international standards. This very important piece of legislation is proposed to be presented to the National Assembly for final approval and will be the cornerstone of the efforts of the Lao PDR authorities in their implementation of the international Financial Action Task Force requirements. ILSTA will continue to support the legal working group on amendments as the law progresses.
