Mr. Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, and Humanitarian Affairs of Luxembourg, along with members of the Luxembourg Parliament, paid a visit to the Faculty of Law

During their official visit to the Lao PDR, Mr. Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, and Humanitarian Affairs of Luxembourg, along with members of the Luxembourg Parliament, paid a visit to the Faculty of Law. They were welcomed by the President of the National University and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, as the Vice-Minister of Justice.
After a short dance performance the delegation engaged in discussions at the library, exchanging valuable insights about the Lao legal system and Luxembourg. This was followed by a brief academic session, during which H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel delivered an inspiring speech on the principles of justice and the paramount importance of upholding and ensuring the rights of every individual. This was followed by a fresh Question and Answer session between the students and the Minister Bettel.
The Minister took time to take stock of ILSTA ongoing support activities on AML/CFT as other important cooperation matters in the field of criminal justice.
The Faculty of Law and Political Science project is supported by Luxembourg’s development cooperation through a broader initiative titled “Enhancing the Rule of Law, Access to Justice, and Good Governance in Laos,” which is implemented by LuxDev, ILSTA, and UNI.lu.
