ILSTA assists the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this effort by providing educational material on the identification of human trafficking

Trafficking in persons is a phenomenon that affects every country across the globe and often requires the cooperation of States. In Lao PDR, a number of foreign victims are exploited by criminal groups while Lao nationals are held as victims abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR is committed to combatting this serious crime by building the capacity of diplomats on this issue and raising awareness amongst vulnerable populations. ILSTA assists the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this effort by providing educational material on the identification of human trafficking as well as the relevant conventions in the Lao language.
Prevention materials will be accessible in consular offices to inform vulnerable people about the risks of migration, particularly human trafficking
