Consultative Workshop on General Inspection of the Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor

The Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor of Lao PDR, along with ILSTA, organized a meeting for government authorities to discuss how laws are implemented and respected in the country. This event, part of a series in Laos, brought together officials from various ministries and authorities to exchange ideas about enforcing laws. The outcomes of these discussions will be used to create an important report presented to the National Assembly by the Prosecutor General.
During the meeting, Richard Philippart emphasized key aspects of law and the APG Mutual Evaluation. Evaluators from the APG assess if a country’s laws and systems are effective in identifying, countering, and reducing crimes like money laundering, organized crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking, corruption, and related offenses involving assets and money. The effectiveness of the law is a crucial factor in Mutual Evaluations.
ILSTA also provided insights on regulatory enforcement in line with the rule of law.
This event was made possible with the support of Luxembourg Aid & Development from the Government of Luxembourg.
