World Turtle Day

Today is World Turtle Day. We should work together to keep turtles safe and protect their homes in the oceans and on the beaches.
By doing this, we also protect all the other animals and plants that rely on them. Let’s make sure future generations can be inspired by turtles too. There are around 360 biological species of turtles both in salt and fresh water. Turtles are endangered as People kill them for their meat, skin, eggs, and shells.
In Lao PDR, turtles are endangered of extinction as they are hunted or sold for food and traditional medicine.
Let’s use this day to encourage people to change their habits to help turtles survive.
