Final consultation meeting with the Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor in Pakse

The Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor recently completed the third and final consultation meeting in Pakse, in partnership with ILSTA, as part of a nationwide evaluation of the implementation of laws under the People’s Prosecutor’s Office. During the meeting, officials from the southern provinces shared the challenges they faced in implementing these laws in their jurisdictions and provided suggestions to improve their dissemination and enforcement. Previous identical events were held in Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng, making this a national evaluation that will be presented to the National Assembly.
ILSTA experts also provided valuable insights into the Lao prosecution system and compared it with other national systems. They also presented practical case studies to identify criminal offenses in Lao PDR.
